HOLT, Fla., July 18, 2017–Tropical Storm Don continues to move westward and is expected to cross the Windward Islands this evening and continue across the southeastern Caribbean Sea during the night.
The storm is moving at 23 mph with 40 mph winds and higher gusts.
The National Hurricane Center does not expect the storm to strengthen within the next 24 hours.
The system is forecast to degenerate into a trough of low pressure tonight or Wednesday, according to the NHC.
The disturbance behind Don still in the Atlantic is moving at a slow 6-12 mph.
According to the NHC, some slow development is possible during the next couple of days; however, it’s forecast to not develop further due to unfavorable environmental conditions.
