
HOLT, Fla., Jan. 3, 2018–The National Weather Service in Mobile has extended the hard freeze warning for this area through Friday morning.
The warning is through 8 a.m. Friday with a hard freeze watch in effect Friday through Saturday morning.
This area can expect lows around 18 degrees tonight, according to the NWS in Mobile. Northerly winds of 5-to-10 mph will also create potentially dangerous wind chill values late tonight.
Across the forecast area, the lowest temperatures will range from 15-to-20 degrees tonight and around 20 degrees Thursday night. Low temperatures Friday night are expected to be around 20 degrees as well.
Clear, sunny skies are forecast for tomorrow with a high of 44 degrees before the thermometer plunges back down to 20 degrees tomorrow night.
The NWS in Mobile received a few reports of snow flurries in the western panhandle this morning, but precipitation ended quickly.
Seasonal temperatures are expected to return to the area Sunday, along with some moisture, according to the NWS.
