HOLT, Fla., June 14, 2018–The tropical disturbance in the Caribbean is now located in the Bay of Campeche in the southwest Gulf of Mexico.
Producing an area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms, this tropical low is expected to continue to move in a west-northwest direction today through Saturday toward Texas and Mexico.
Development, if any, of this disturbance should be slow to occur due to strong upper-level wind shear, according to the National Hurricane Center.
Further formation chance through the next five days has been lowered to 10 percent.
