
HOLT, Fla., June 15, 2023—Multiple rounds of severe storms are in today’s forecast after a stormy evening yesterday.
The entire Mobile forecasts area is under a level 2 risk for more severe weather.
According to the National Weather Service, storms will be capable of producing damaging winds of more than 60 miles per hour and large hail.
Tornadoes are also possible, and a tornado watch is in effect until 3 p.m.
Last night, multiple rounds of strong-to-severe storms impacted several locations along and north of the U.S. Highway 84 corridor in Alabama, according to the NWS, with a severe thunderstorm blowing through this area just before 10 p.m.
Yesterday’s storm activity left an unstable weather environment behind, setting up today’s severe weather possibilities.

Additionally, another day of severe weather is in tomorrow’s forecast with the entire Mobile forecast area in a level 2 risk zone again.
Severe storms will be possible with the main threats being large hail and damaging straight-line winds of more than 60 mph, according to the NWS.
One round of severe storms is possible during the morning hours with a second round in the late afternoon and evening.
Prior to storm development tomorrow evening, temperatures will likely rise into the 90s, and combined with the humidity, will increase the heat index between 100 and 105 degrees in some parts of the forecast area, according to the NWS.
This pattern will exist into the weekend with a series of severe weather possible, the more significant being Sunday.
According to the NWS, the possibilities of severe weather may continue into next week.
