HOLT, Fla., June 21, 2023—One person was killed today in a two-car traffic accident on U.S. Highway 90 here.

Longtime Holt resident, Danny Patrick, 70, died at the scene of the accident when the car he was riding in was hit broadside.

The two cars collided just after 5 p.m. when the driver of Patrick’s car heading east attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Cooper Lane in front of a westbound car, according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The right front of the westbound car T-boned the passenger’s side of the turning vehicle.

The drivers of both cars suffered minor injuries, according to the release.

The accident occurred where the speed limit changes from 50 to 60 mph heading west and closed both lanes of Hwy 90 for about two-and-a-half hours while FHP conducted an investigation.

Charges are pending upon the completion of a traffic homicide investigation, according to the release.
