Earth’s spin is a bit uneven

According to scientists, the Earth’s axis—the imaginary line that runs north/south through the center of the Earth the planet spins on—drifted to the east around the beginning of the millennium. According to studies, the change is the result of accelerated melting of the polar ice sheets as well as colossal amounts of water pumped out of underground aquifers to water crops and supply households. These actions have shifted the way mass is distributed around the planet, causing the Earth’s spin to become uneven. It can’t be detected, but it’s not spinning smoothly, according to scientists.
