
HOLT, Fla., June 29, 2023—A heat advisory is in effect for Okaloosa County from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Hot temperatures and high humidity continue today and into tomorrow and will likely continue into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
Today will be sunny and hot with a high near 99 degrees and heat values as high as 105. No rain is in the forecast.
Most of Santa Rosa and Escambia counties are under a heat advisory with the coastal areas under an excessive heat warning today.
According to the NWS, the heat index will max out between 108 and 115 degrees in western areas of the Florida panhandle.

Tomorrow, an excessive heat watch is in effect for Florida’s Escambia County, much of southwestern Alabama and southeast Mississippi.
Dangerously hot conditions are forecast with heat index values up to around 115 degrees possible.
Highs here are forecast to be near 98 degrees with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m.
Prolonged exposure can increase the risk of heat related illness, particularly for those working outdoors or participating in outdoor activities. The NWS recommends taking precautions if planning to spend time outdoors, especially during hours of peak heating.
