
HOLT, Fla., July 22, 2023—Multiple advisories are in effect for the forecast area today.

Dangerous heat continues and a heat advisory is in effect until 7 p.m.
Heat index values of 106-112 degrees expected in the western Florida panhandle. A 107 heat index is forecast for this area.
The good news is the National Weather Service is forecasting this to be the final day of extended high heat.

Along with the heat, the forecast calls for scattered-to-numerous thunderstorms this afternoon and evening from 1-10 p.m. across the forecast area.
Most of the forecast area is under a level 2 risk for severe weather. Because of this, the NWS has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 7 p.m.
A few strong-to-severe storms are possible. Some storms could bring damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph, quarter-sized hail and heavy rain.
Today’s expected high of 94 degrees will fall to around 86 by 5 p.m. as these storms move in.
Rain chances here are 80 percent today, tonight and tomorrow.
Low temps will be around 73 tonight, 70 tomorrow night and in the low 70s Monday through Thursday nights. Highs are expected to be in the low 90s.
