
CRESTVIEW, Fla., Aug. 6, 2023—Heavy rain attributed to a traffic accident on Interstate 10 yesterday resulting in two injuries.
A pickup truck with a driver and passenger from Niceville was traveling eastbound on I-10 near mile marker 54 around 5:30 p.m. when the truck began hydroplaning due to heavy rain in the area, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
The driver lost control of the truck and it veered off the roadway to the left and collided with the guardrail.
The force of the impact pushed the truck back into the traffic lane where it collided with a semi tractor trailer, according to the release.
Both pickup passengers were transported to the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center with serious injuries.
