
HOLT, Fla., Aug. 14, 2023—Another day of dangerous heat continues today across the entire forecast area.
It will be sunny and hot with a high near 99 degrees, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
As a result, yet another excessive heat warning will be in effect from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with heat index values here as high as 111 degrees.
There is a 30 percent chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms and a low tonight around 78 degrees.
According to the NWS, it remains unclear if an excessive heat watch (for heat index values 113 degrees or higher) will be necessary tomorrow; however, a heat advisory (for values 108-112) will be likely.
Shower and thunderstorm chances increase tomorrow to 70 percent with strong gusty winds being the primary threat with any storms that develop.
Late Tuesday into early Wednesday, a weak cold front will bring drier air and somewhat lower temperatures in the mid 90s. Overnight lows Wednesday will be near 70 degrees.
