CRESTVIEW, Fla., Oct. 8, 2023—A fatal traffic crash around midday killed a Crestview man yesterday on State Road 85.

A 25-year-old motorcycle driver was headed south on Hwy 85 around 12:27 p.m.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol news release, as the motorcycle traveled through the intersection of Antioch Road on a green light, a northbound Dodge Ram pickup truck turning left onto Antioch Road crossed into the motorcycle’s path.

The motorcycle driver who was wearing protective gear and helmet, died at the scene, according to the release.

The driver of the Dodge truck suffered minor injuries, according to the FHP.

Debris from the pickup also hit a Chevrolet pickup that was stopped at the Antioch light waiting to turn right onto Hwy 85.

The accident closed both southbound lanes of Hwy 85 and blocked Antioch Road for a period of time.
