HOLT, Fla., Oct. 9, 2023—The National Hurricane Center is now watching two areas of interest.
The tropical wave moving westward across the Atlantic, identified as Invest 92, is now at 90 percent.
While little has changed in organization, environmental conditions are favorable for gradual development and a tropical depression is likely to form in the next couple of days, according to the NHC.

Closer to home, a new area, identified as Invest 93, has formed in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico.
Environmental conditions appear only marginally favorable for additional development, according to the NHC.
The low is forecast to merge with a frontal system over the western Gulf by Wednesday morning.
It has a 20 percent chance of further development.
