Chilly Halloween forecast

Halloween night brings chills to the area.

HOLT, Fla., Oct. 30, 2023—Looks like chills are in store for Halloween.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures are going to tumble tomorrow night behind a strong cold front making its way across the nation.

Temperatures will fall throughout the afternoon hours.

Overnight lows for Halloween will drop to around 39 degrees with gusty northerly winds. Wednesday’s high will be around 60 degrees.

Fire watch

In addition to cooler temps, a fire weather watch is in effect Wednesday afternoon across the area due to gusty winds coupled with low humidity and no rain for the last few weeks.

According to the U.S.Drought Monitor, this area is in a level 2 out of 5 drought.

North winds between 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 30 mph are expected. Relative humidity will be as low as 15 to 20 percent.

Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly, according to the NWS. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Near term

Lows tonight will dip into the low 50s. Tomorrow’s high will be around 63 degrees. The coldest morning of the week will be Thursday morning with lows around 36 degrees and a north to northeast wind around 10 mph.

According to the NWS, temperatures will remain in the 70s through the remainder of the week.
