CRESTVIEW, Fla., Dec. 2, 2023—A Crestview teenager suffered minor injuries in a hit-and-run accident on Ferdon Boulevard yesterday.
The boy, 16, was riding his bicycle south on the west shoulder sidewalk of Ferdon through the 9th Avenue intersection round 2:15 p.m. when a brown sedan, also traveling south, attempted to make a righthand turn onto 9th Avenue, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
The car struck the boy on the bike, causing minor injuries, according to the release.
The driver, a white female with purple hair, initially stopped, then fled the scene, traveling west on 9th Avenue.
According to the release, the car is described as a 10-to-15-year-old brown four-door sedan with possible signs of damage to its right side near the back door.
“Although the injuries are minor, we need your help in locating the car and driver,” said FHP public affairs officer Lt. Jason King. “I know this appears to be minor in nature, [but] if you drive away from a crash scene, our goal is to find you and hold you accountable.”
