Bush House Christmas market returns Saturday

Shoppers peruse a diverse selection of wares offered by an equally diverse group of vendors at the March Bush House market.

CRESTVIEW, Fla., Dec. 6, 2023—The Christmas market is returning to the Bush House Saturday just in time for holiday gift shopping.

As the holidays approach, the market will be heavy on arts and crafts, cottage industry foods and more.

Sarah Searfoss, director and co-founder of the Crestview Artists’ Collective, is organizing the market and said she is “excited to work with the Crestview History Museum and Sister City Ambassadors to present the community with more opportunities for arts and culture with the Bush House Christmas market.”

The Bush House holds a market about three times a year as part of its Second Saturday events and benefits the Crestview Sister City Ambassadors, the student group of the Sister City Program.

Exhibitors’ $20 suggested donations will help students fund travel to Crestview’s Sister City, Noirmoutier, France, in 2025 and help fund activities when 20 Noirmoutrin students visit Crestview in October 2024.

The market will be held in the Wilson Street parking lot adjacent to the Bush House, which is home to the Crestview History Museum.

Although parking lot access will be closed during the market’s 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. opening times, on-street parking is available.

Attendees will enjoy live music by a homeschool student choir, including traditional Christmas songs, some sung in the original German.

“Warm up with a hand-crafted coffee while browsing an array of selections from local artists, crafters, artisans and more at the Christmas bazaar, while fun activities take place in the historic Bush House,” Searfoss said.

Crestview Sister City Ambassador vice president Maggie Raymond helps young visitors decorate Christmas cookies at last year’s Christmas at the Bush House. The popular activity will return Dec. 9.

While the market goes on next door, the American craftsman-style Bush House will be decorated for Christmas. Cookie decorating will be available in the kitchen.
