CRESTVIEW, Fla., Feb. 8, 2024—A Crestview teen has been charged with making an electronic threat of a mass shooting/terrorist act.
Ian Nicholas Mohr, 16, was arrested last night at his home, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Mohr created a video threatening to use explosives to blow up Crestview High School and placed the video on SnapChat, according to the release.
The sheriff’s office received information regarding the social media post from the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
Mohr told deputies he made the video as a joke, was just being sarcastic and that he wanted to start a trend where kids post sarcastic videos like his.
In the video, comments were made that 20 pounds of C4 would be used to blow up the school, according to the arrest report.
The teen’s stepfather told deputies that he knew about the video and had already disciplined Mohr, although the arrest report did not specify the type of discipline the teen received.
Making a written or electronic threat of a mass shooting or a terrorist act is a second-degree felony, according to the release.
