BAKER, Fla., March 8, 2024—The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Baker School teacher with child neglect.

Peggy Carol Rambosk, 57, of Pensacola was arrested yesterday on an out-of-county warrant for Okaloosa County and booked at the Escambia County Jail.
Sheriff’s office investigators say Rambosk had a series of text conversations between Jan. 30 and Feb. 2 with a student who made references to killing herself. The student said she had already tried twice before, according to an OCSO news release.
On Feb. 2, the student relayed to Rombosk she had then taken “a lot of pills” while at school and was overdosing. The release did not identify the type of pills that were taken.
Rambosk did not render aid but instead texted the student’s sister who lived out of state, according to the release.
The student was taken to Fort Walton Beach/Destin Hospital by Okaloosa Emergency Medical Services after OCSO school resource officers learned of the incident and called for medical assistance.
Investigators say Rambosk never contacted law enforcement, the abuse hotline of the Florida Department of Children and Families, medical services, school staff or the child’s mother. She said she told the student to delete their text conversations, according to the release.
This woman is a teacher!
I wonder if she’s ever been checked for drug use or alcoholism?

I was employed as Child Abuse Investigator Dept HRS in Santa Rosa county.
This woman’s behavior is actionable. I interacted with teachers often and never did I see any that had this woman’s appearance. She is unclean, and physically presents as an alcoholic or illegal drug user. I am surprised Admin at Baker didn’t see the red flags
