BAKER, Fla., March 27, 2024—A Crestview man was shot during a felony warrant service around midnight in Baker.
Daniel Reed Wesson, 38, had active warrants for probation violation and lunged at Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies when they attempted to take him into custody at 5727 Griffith Cemetery Road in Baker.
Wesson was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to live.
No deputies were injured.
Per standard protocols the OCSO deputy involved will be placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division and review by the State Attorney’s Office.
Wesson’s outstanding warrants included two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of burglary tools and trespassing.
He was arrested in 2023 for burglary, drugs and aggravated battery; in 2021 for drugs and battery; and in 2020 for driving with a suspended license, drugs and probation violation.

It is sad we have such a terrible criminal element in our area. All if them are over and over repeat offenders. Law needs to keep them in jail to protect us. We see the same lifetime hard criminals over and over.

maybe you should do more then just read what people decide to write and print/report because just what you read is never the full truth on the situation or of the person. so before you judge people by just reading in this world you should search for the truth not just the posted surface of what the ones in power what you to know and to read in to things so you stay truly blind to reality.
so unless you was there and know the full truth or you 100 fully know the person truly dont judge for only God can judge and dont make assumptions as the saying goes assumptions make a ass out of you and me. so behind ever things said on a cover doesn’t matter until you actually read the book fully or been in situation where you understand like that saying goes unless you walked in the others shoes for anytime then you can’t understand the path one as walked or gone thu and been thu.

God bless remember everyone as a story thats not told when you read only the parts aloud by the ones in power and the ones you are voicing about have family and ones that love them and you have no idea of any of the true content of these stories so i pray for people to realize this and hope we can understand this concept and come to realize who’s in control of narrative when you read stuff like this and that maybe instead of being judgmental and jumping to conclusions and doing more judging and wishing opinions before knowing all the true facts and contents of every story and as a story because we all have a story we are living a story that one day will be told to others and their family members or friends telling someone else but we all have a story a true living story so maybe we should think about this before jumping to everything and judgments and voice and opinions too early not having all the facts and contents so that way we can stop hurting each other maybe come up with ways to try to help each other in this life and lift each other up and encourage people and go back to ways always used to be instead of this hurting and diminishing people for oneself Worth or want to become a into society is better leftward over others to have power over others get back to the roots of how people are supposed to treat people because guess what all of those who believe in God or higher power or whatever there will be judgment and that will determine what happens next and I rather be judged trying to bring better into this life into this world and to others as we were commanded as long ago to do and everybody has lost sight of it all and I believe this world needs to get back to basics of things not all basics but the biggest treating others and certain other factors if not our world wont get any better and it wont get better for our kids or grandkids or great grand kids the cycle as to be changed now for that to become true for our kids and grandkids and so fourth. lets try to make the changes for them. you may think you cant be enough of a impact but you doing your share and part will impact another and a chain reaction will happen it may take time to see it in a bigger scale impact but it will get there to where we and the next generations will see and feel it.
