BAKER, Fla., April 27, 2024—Three people were injured during a traffic accident north of Baker on State Road 189 Friday evening.

Around 8:40 p.m., a sedan, driven by a 58-year-old Crestview male, was traveling north on Hwy 189 near Joe Jordon Road when it crossed the centerline into the path of a southbound van driven by a 45-year-old female with a 12-year-old passenger, both from Auburn, Ala., according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The two vehicles met head-on. The condition of all three people was listed as serious.

According to the release, the adults were wearing seatbelts, but the child was not.

Two of the injured were life-flighted to area hospitals. The third was transported by ambulance. It was not clear from the release which two were transported by air.

State Road 189 was closed for an extended time due to the injuries and vehicles blocking the roadway, according to the release.
