
HOLT, Fla., May 16, 2024—Multiple rounds of storms bringing heavy rain will be possible tomorrow through Saturday morning.
Timing for severe weather in this area should be between 6-11 p.m. with the greatest risk from mid-afternoon through mid-evening tomorrow.
Some areas could have heavy rains at time, totaling between 2-5 inches of rain.
Damaging winds up to 60 mph is the primary threat, but a tornado or two and isolated large hail cannot be ruled out, according to the National Weather Service.
The NWS’s Storm Prediction Center extended the level 2 risk to include the entire forecast area.
The forecast calls for scattered-to-numerous showers and a chance of thunderstorms late tonight/early tomorrow morning with moderate-to-heavy rain. Wind gusts up to 50 mph could occur with stronger storms.
After a morning break, strong-to-severe thunderstorms are then forecast for tomorrow afternoon and evening.
According to the forecast, a break from the evening storms after midnight is likely before a possible third round of rain begins Saturday morning.
Today will be sunny with clouds moving in this afternoon. Highs will be near 87 degrees.
Sunday through Wednesday will be sunny with highs near or above 90 degrees.
