Baker traffic crash: one injury, one arrest

BAKER, Fla., Sept. 16, 2024—A Pensacola teenager was listed in critical condition after a traffic accident in Baker last night.

The accident occurred around 7:50 p.m. at State Road 4 and Galliver Cut Off, closing the intersection for about 30 minutes.

The Florida Highway Patrol arrested Baker resident Kyle Brandon Frazier, 36, for driving under the influence with serious bodily injury and reckless driving with serious bodily injury.

According to an FHP news release, Frazier was traveling south on State Road 4 in a pickup truck “at an extremely high rate of speed.”

The male teen, 18, was making a left-hand turn, also in a pickup, from Galliver to northbound Hwy 4. He turned into the path of the oncoming Frazier who was traveling “well above the posted speed of 45 miles per hour,” according to the release.

The front of Frazier’s pickup hit the driver’s side of the turning pickup.

The teen was airlifted to a trauma center in Pensacola with critical injuries, according to the release.

Frazier was placed under arrest and booked into the Okaloosa County Jail without bond.
