A joint aircraft mass casualty response exercise, taking place off base/off the airport, was scheduled for 8 a.m. to noon. General Bond Boulevard was scheduled to be closed during that time due to exercise activity.
Multiple response agencies were to participate including Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport, the 96th Test Wing first responders, Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, and others.
However, with the possibility of severe weather from an approaching possible hurricane, the exercise has been postponed until further notice.
