BAKER, Fla., Oct. 24, 2045—A Holt man was arrested for domestic violence yesterday afternoon in Baker.

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested David Wesley Johnson, 38, for domestic violence battery and other charges.
The victim said she and Johnson live in a vehicle at a campground at Wilderness Landing Road in Baker.
She told deputies during an argument yesterday afternoon that Johnson grabbed her by the mouth, causing her teeth to cut her lip. She said he then grabbed and shook her by the head.
They then both left in their car.
A short time later, OCSO deputies spotted Johnson beside the car. When he saw law enforcement he ran into the woods and refused to surrender.
An OCSO K9 team located Johnson and took him into custody.
A month-and-a-half earlier, Johnson was seen with the victim at the Dollar General Store in Holt where he pushed her outside the store, grabbed her and dragged her to his car in an attempt to force her into the rear driver’s seat, while she struggled to get free.
Unsuccessful, he then dragged her to the passenger side of the car where she continued to struggle to free herself.
These actions were captured on the store’s exterior security camera.
A witness came to the victim’s aid, demanding he let her go. Johnson shoved the victim to the ground, jumped into his car and drove off.
Johnson’s charges include kidnapping, domestic violence battery, battery, resisting arrest and probation violation for possession of a controlled substance.
He was arrested in January for drugs and probation violation, in February for probation violation and in 2023 for driving with a suspended/revoked license, drugs and weapon possession by a convicted felon.
Johnson has also been arrested in Santa Rosa County for an out-of-county warrant in February, for drugs in 2022, probation violation in 2021 and for drugs and failure to appear in 2020.
