Destin lotto ticket $43 million winner

DESTIN, Fla., Jan. 16, 2025—The “luckiest fishing village” just got luckier for someone.

A $43 million Florida Lotto with Double Play quick-pick ticket purchased at a Tom Thumb convenience store on U.S. Highway 98 in Sandestin was a winner yesterday.

The winning numbers—7, 8, 24, 37, 43 and 49—belonged to only one winning ticket. As of today, the ticket remains unclaimed.

The last Florida Lotto winner was in early August last year with a ticket purchased in Kissimmee.

Whoever is holding the winning ticket has 180 days and must to go to Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee to claim the prize.

The IRS requires Florida Lottery to withhold 24 percent federal withholding tax on prizes over $5,000 for U.S. citizens or non-citizens with a social security number.
