HOLT, Fla., Jan. 17, 2025—One man was seriously injured when the tractor trailer he was driving hit another semi on Interstate 10 this afternoon.
The tractor trailer driver, 71, from Anna, Texas, was headed east in the outside lane on I-10 around 1:13 p.m. when he drifted into the emergency lane and crashed into a parked semi just west of Holt’s exit 45, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The second semi driver, 47, from Crawfordville, Fla., suffered minor injuries. The Texas man was life-flighted to a local hospital.
The accident blocked both lanes of I-10 for the first hour before drivers were allowed to go around the accident site by driving on the median.

Eastbound I-10 traffic was detoured off the interstate at exit 31 in Santa Rosa County to allow responders to safely deal with the crash and cleanup afterwards.
By 3 p.m. the semi blocking both lanes was removed from the roadway and the inside lane was opened to traffic around 4:30 p.m.
It wasn’t until 5 p.m. that the detour in Santa Rosa was opened and traffic was allowed to travel in both lanes.
