
BAKER, Fla., April 22, 2025—A Crestview man was arrested on a number of charges after a traffic stop in Baker Saturday.
Michael Anthony Chessher, 48, was charged with trafficking fentanyl, drug paraphernalia possession, smuggling contraband into a county detention facility and driving with a suspended license as an habitual offender.
An Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop for an obstructed license tag on State Road 189 on the vehicle Chessher was driving and found Chessher had been arrested a total of five guilty times as a habitual offender for driving with a cancelled, revoked or suspended license.
Additionally, three grams of suspected fentanyl was near the driver’s seat.
When Chessher was taken to the Okaloosa County Jail, a search revealed another gram of suspected fentanyl hidden in his pants.
