HOLT, Fla., May 8, 2025—An extremely wide load moved through Holt today along U.S. Highway 90 from Pace.
The semi pulling what is considered a super load was escorted by four Florida Highway Patrol cars as well as lineman bucket trucks to lift traffic lights and other wires crossing the highway due to the height of the load. This included the flashing light at Log Lake Road and Hwy 90.
Westbound vehicles had to move to the shoulder and wait until the procession passed because the load stretched into the oncoming traffic lane.
Top speed along Hwy 90 after the light in Holt moved at an average of 35 mph toward Crestview with a line of cars following behind. Traffic occasionally came to a standstill as traffic lights along the highway were lifted to allow the load to inch underneath them.
It is unknown what the equipment (big and gray) was or what its final destination was.
