
DESTIN, Fla., May 10, 2025—Waterspouts from morning storms moved onshore today in Destin and Pensacola.
In Destin, a waterspout moved onshore near Henderson Beach State Park. The tornado then crossed over U.S. Highway 98 causing damage to businesses and vehicles, some flooding and knocking power out which affected traffic signals.
Destin Fire Rescue reported 77 locations without electricity. Florida Power & Light was on scene to restore power.
Destin Commons Drive behind Osaka Restaurant was closed for more than two hours due to standing water on the roadway.
No injuries were reported.

Earlier this morning, a waterspout offshore of Pensacola Beach moved onshore and caused tornado damage in the area.
Once a waterspout moves onshore, it is reclassified as a tornado.

Storm damage due to a likely tornado was reported near and just north of NAS Pensacola. It caused trees to fall on a house in the area, according to police scanner traffic.
A tornado watch has been issued for Walton Counties and those panhandle counties to the east of Okaloosa until 5 p.m.
Tornado warnings were issued for Walton County earlier this morning north of Miramar Beach to include the DeFuniak Springs area.
