OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla., June 18, 2025—Two non-county residents were arrested today in south Okaloosa County on multiple charges after fleeing from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Kyle Lee Bird, 30, of Zephyrhills, Fla., was charged with operating a vehicle without a license, reckless driving, fleeing to elude, child neglect, drugs and probation violation.

Also arrested was Marissa Lynn Brimlow, 31, of Riverview, Fla., on charges of marijuana possession and felony probation violation.

Earlier this morning, an unmarked FHP vehicle with two troopers attempted to stop a white Toyota Corolla on westbound Interstate 10 in the area of the 73 mile marker. Other motorists had notified the FHP that the Toyota was driving recklessly.

Instead of stopping, Bird fled, reaching speeds of more than 100 mph.

Bird left the highway at exit 70 onto southbound State Road 285 and continued fleeing until the 9 mile marker where he turned left onto Range Road 201.

At that point, the FHP executed a PIT maneuver (Precision Immobilization Technique) and successfully ended the chase.

Besides Bird, there were two other adults in the car as well as an 18-month-old boy.

Brimlow, mother of the child, was the right front passenger. The rear seat passenger was an 18-year-old male, also from Riverview. He was not charged.

There were no injuries associated with the incident and the child was released to the Department of Children and Family Services.

Bird and Brimlow are being held in the Okaloosa County Jail without bond.
