
DESTIN, Fla., July 17, 2025—The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is cracking down on speeders this week as part of statewide Operation Slow Down that began Monday.

Last night, deputies hit the streets during the night shift making numerous traffic stops, according to an OCSO release.
One stop was a motorcyclist who was stopped for speeding in the City of Destin.
During the stop, the motorcyclist was educated on the hazards of speeding and the risk to others. The driver was released with a warning to slow down.

Once out of sight, the motorcyclist was stopped a second time by another deputy who clocked him at 91 mph in a 35 mph zone, according to the release.
The driver was placed under arrest and taken to the Okaloosa County jail. His motorcycle was impounded.
