
OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla., Sept. 17, 2025—A suspect is in custody after a pursuit on Interstate 10 in Okaloosa County this morning.
The pursuit ended earlier near mile marker 61 when the vehicle being chased crashed.
The driver, described as a black male dressed in black and possibly armed, ran from the crash site, but was captured after a short manhunt.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies assisted the Florida Highway Patrol.

During the hunt for the individual, the eastbound inside lane between mile marker 60 and 63 was blocked causing traffic to back up due to law enforcement activity.
The eastbound lanes are open. However, at the time of this article, westbound traffic is limited to the inside lane and is backed up between mile marker 60 and 62 while law enforcement continues its investigation.
