HOLT, Fla., Oct. 7, 2025—The last Holt Fire District rib sale of the year is this Friday and Saturday.

Holt Fire is smoking 120 rack of ribs both days. The first batch will be coming out of the smoker around noon (or earlier).

The racks weigh about 4 1/2 pounds prior to cooking. Seasoned with a special rub, the ribs cook for four hours and come out of the smoker fall-off-the-bone tender. They go for $22 a rack.

Ribs will be available for pick up around noon both days. They tend to sell quickly, so plan accordingly.

Susan’s Food Truck will provide pint-sized servings of sides—potato salad, baked beans and coleslaw. They sell for $4 a pint, two for $7 or three for $11.

The next rib sale will be in February 2026 during Super Bowl weekend.

In addition to ribs, the District will be selling gun raffle tickets for an opportunity to win a Liberty 24 gun safe, a Savage Impulse Big Game In 308 Win or a Taurus Judge 45/410. Raffle tickets are $5 each or four tickets for $20.

Drawing will be Oct. 31 at the annual Harvest Festival. Ticket holders do not have to be present to win.

And as a special bonus announcement, Holt Fire will be sponsoring the Holt Hollows Haunted House, Oct. 24, 25, 30 and 31 at the old fire station/community center/water office. Times are 6-9 p.m. Oct. 24, 25 and 30 and 7-10 p.m. Oct. 31.

Directions to the rib sale: The fire station is located at 483 U.S. 90 West in Holt. If coming from Interstate 10, take exit 45, turn north toward U.S. 90, then west at the flashing light. The station is on the right.
