Florida police crack down on fake handicap placards

MOUNT DORA, Fla., Nov. 30, 2025—Police in central Florida recovered more than 30 fake handicap parking placards during a two-day operation.

In an effort designed to protect accessible parking spaces for those who need them, the Mount Dora Police Department Traffic Unit focused on handicap placard use at Walmart and Target.

During the two-day operation, the team conducted more than 80 traffic stops and recovered more than 30 illegal parking placards.

Mount Dora is approximately located northwest of Orlando.
