CRESTVIEW, Fla., Feb. 13, 2026—A 14-year-old Crestview student is charged with writing a threat to commit a school shooting.
An investigation was immediately launched after a threat to shoot up Crestview High School was found written in red marker on the bathroom wall of a girls’ restroom the morning of Jan. 26. The message was cleaned up but a second threat was found the same day in the same restroom.
Through investigative efforts, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office ultimately connected the writing to Joselynn Waldron.
Waldron was arrested Feb. 5 on the charge of issuing a written threat of a mass shooting.
She was transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Crestview.
“Making threats is never harmless,” said Sheriff Eric Aden. “And the consequences can follow a student into adulthood in multiple negative ways.”
Early reporting can prevent tragedy, he said.
“If you see something, say something,” the sheriff said. “I am thankful our agency and the Okaloosa County School District have such an outstanding partnership in working to prioritize student safety.”
