CRESTVIEW, Fla., March 9, 2026—A driver was arrested on drug charges after he rolled through a stop sign on Shoffner Boulevard and U.S. Highway 90 in Crestview Feb. 17.

The driver, Paul Treaster, 49, was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine.
Once stopped, Treaster admitted to Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Dep. Tanner Zant that his driver’s license had been suspended since Feb. 9 due to issues related to child support.
During the conversation, Zant noticed Treaster attempting to hide something on the floorboard with his left foot.
Moments later, K-9 Dep. Caden Downing arrived with K-9 Vojak. During a free-air sniff around the vehicle, Vojak alerted to the odor of narcotics. That alert led to a probable cause search of the truck.
On the driver’s side floorboard where Treaster had been shifting his foot, deputies located approximately 100 grams of a crystallized substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine.
After being advised of his rights, Treaster claimed he didn’t know anything about the drugs in his truck. He told deputies a friend had been borrowing the vehicle for the past few days and the methamphetamine likely belonged to him.
Treaster is being held in the Okaloosa County Jail on a $76,000 bail.
