HOLT, Fla., March 8, 2017—Crestview will host it’s 13th annual Triple B festival at Old Spanish Trail Fairgrounds March 25.
The annual Blackwater, Bands and BBQ Cookoff is Crestview’s biggest annual event with an expected crowd of around 10,000, according to the Chamber of Commerce website.
This will be the first year the downtown festival will be held at the fairgrounds.
Another change to the event includes Triple B’s certification with the Kansas City Barbecue Society making the festival a sanctioned barbecue event for its competitors.
The KCBS is the world’s largest barbecue and grilling organization with more than 20,000 members worldwide, according to the KCBS website. The organization sanctions more than 500 contests around the world.
As always, highlight of this year’s festival is the Backyard BBQ Competition. To spice things up, a KCBS Pro Team Competition has been added.
The newly sanctioned barbecue competition will likely draw more competitors at a national level, according to a Crestview Chamber of Commerce news release from April 2016.
The release stated competitors at that level have 30-to-60-foot trailers used for competition with space, electricity and water needs, causing to move the downtown event to a different location to accommodate expected competition and attendance growth.
