More rain in forecast

HOLT, Fla., May 21, 2017–The National Weather Service in Mobile is forecasting thunderstorms again today with the possibility of a strong-to-severe storm developing in the afternoon through the evening.

Strong winds and small hail are possible with these isolated storms.

Last night’s storms dumped 3.37 inches of rain in Crestview within a couple of hours, about three inches over the daily average for this time of year.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected through Wednesday.

Another bout of strong-to-severe thunderstorms is possible Monday into Monday night with strong-to-damaging winds the primary threat, according to the NWS.

“With an extended period of rain lasting through Wednesday, an increasing possibility of flooding exists,” said the NWS Mobile in a weather statement.
