HOLT, Fla., July 5, 2017–A new disturbance in the Atlantic Ocean has the National Hurricane Center’s attention this week.
A low-pressure system is centered about 800 miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.
The center forecast is for this system to become a tropical storm during the next 48 hours.
While slow-moving right now, it’s expected to begin a west-northwest track at 10-to-15 mph today.
Hurricane models show the storm moving past the Bahamas toward the east coast of Florida.
