HOLT, Fla., April 12, 2018–Florida’s Longest Yard Sale is back.
Flea Across Florida’s springtime event is scheduled for 7 a.m. April 13 through 5 p.m. April 14.
The semiannual treasure hunt stretches 272 miles along U.S. 90 from Live Oak to Pensacola.
Sales run from east to west as individuals, non-profits, businesses and community organizations set up shop on sidewalks, in parking lots and along the roadway for this annual event.
During last year’s spring flea, more than 30 individual roadside sales were set up along U.S. 90 between Holt and Milton.
Friday is expected to be sunny with a high of 78 degrees here; however there’s a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms Saturday as a weather system moves though the area.
The fall event, scheduled the second weekend in September, was cancelled last year when Gov. Rick Scott declared a state of emergency for Florida due to the impending landfall of Hurricane Irma.
Flea Across Florida, originated in 2010 by the Live Oak Partnership, was designed to revitalize communities along U.S. 90 that were left behind as Interstate 10 became the roadway of choice for travelers.
