Tax Day freebies on tap for Tuesday

TaxDayHOLT, Fla., April 17, 2018–Several businesses are helping to take a bite out of Tax Day by offering discounts on food or other services.

Start the day off with a free made-from-scratch sausage biscuit at Hardees from 7 to 10 a.m. The secret password to get the free offer is to say “made from scratch” when ordering.

Sonny’s BBQ is offering its IRS–Irresistible Rib Special–half-price St. Louis rib dinner made with either Sonny’s “sweet & smokey” or house dry-rubbed seasoning with two sidekicks and homemade bread. Dine in or take out.

Sonic is also offering a half-price deal–50 percent off cheeseburgers all day long Tuesday.

Captain D’s Tax Day special includes a $10.40 deal with six pieces of its batter-dipped fish, one family side and six pups.

Firehouse Subs is offering a free medium sub with the full-price purchase of a medium or large sub, chips and drink Tuesday through Thursday.

Hot Dog on a Stick will give every customer who stops by a free turkey or veggie dog Tuesday.

Applebee’s is bringing back the Dollarita through April 30.

Kids 12 and younger eat free at Hooters with a purchase of $10 or more Tuesday.

Get a 15-cent one-topping medium pizza with purchase of a large one-topping pizza at Hungry Howies Tuesday.

There’s also some retail deals on Tax Day.

Office Depot and Office Max are offering free shredding up to 5 pound of paper through April 28. Staples is also offering free shredding up to 1 pound through April 21.  All require a coupon (see links).

Lowes Spring Break Black Friday Deals runs through April 18 with discounts on garden, outdoor, flooring and appliances.

And while not a specific Tax Day deal, the U.S. National Parks has free admission to all the parks within the system April 21 through April 29.
