HOLT, Fla., July 20, 2018 [updated 7/26/7:15 a.m.]–The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for this area for the entire weekend.
A heat advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. Saturday through 6 p.m. Sunday for a heat index of 108-to-112 degrees across western panhandle.
Here, Saturday’s high is expected to reach 94 degrees with a heat index of 107 and a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m.
A heat advisory means a period of hot temperatures is expected of 103-to-104 degrees or heat indices of 108-to-112 degrees.
The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity combine to create a situation where heat induced illness is possible, according to the NWS.
Forecast for Sunday calls for a high of 95 degrees and a heat index of 105. Rain chance is 30 percent after 1 p.m.
