HOLT, Fla., Aug. 4, 2018–The National Hurricane Center has identified an area of interest in the central Atlantic Ocean.
The NHC does not expect this system to affect the United States.
Shower activity associated with a non-tropical low-pressure system centered about 850 miles west-southwest of the Azores remains limited.
The low could, however, gradually acquire subtropical or tropical characteristics while it moves southwestward during the next day or two before turning back to the northeast.
Further formation chance through the next five days remains low at 30 percent.
