HOLT, Fla., Oct. 11, 2018–The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s office arrested a Destin homeless man today for allegedly sexually molesting a child at an emergency hurricane shelter.

John Thomas Stapleton, 60, is charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim under the age of 12.
A witness told OCSO deputies she saw a recording of a 6-year-old child being touched in a lewd manner underneath her clothing.
Investigators reviewed the video and said Stapleton later admitted touching the victim, but said he claimed it was not in a lewd manner.
The incident took place at Davidson Middle School that was being used to house people seeking shelter from Hurricane Michael.
Stapleton is being held in the Okaloosa County jail without bond.
