HOLT, Fla., Oct. 12, 2018–The trailer is set and donations are being accepted for storm victims of Hurricane Michael.
The Holt community is accepting donations today for delivery tomorrow to Blountstown, Fla., one of the smaller cities north of Panama City and the county seat of Calhoun County.
A little bit larger population-wise than Holt, Blountstown is located about 50 miles north of Panama City just west of the Apalachicola River.
Small inland Florida towns like Blountstown that were hit hard by Hurricane Michael, still a Category 4 storm after landfall, have seen little national news with all the attention focused on Panama City, Mexico Beach and other coastal cities.
A caravan of relief supplies will depart from the First Baptist Church of Holt at 7 a.m. tomorrow where it will meet up with members of the First Baptist Church of Robertsdale, Ala., who will be serving hot meals to Blountstown residents.
Relief donations will be accepted until 5 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Holt on U.S. 90.
