HOLT, Fla., Nov. 30, 2018–Crestview’s annual Christmas parade scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed due to incoming weather.
“After much deliberation and tons of phone calls (volunteers, City of Crestview, Police, Santa Clause, etc.), we have decided to postpone the parade,” according to a statement issued by the Main Street Crestview Association.
The new parade date is Dec. 15 with the tree lighting at 5 p.m. The parade begins at 5:30 p.m.
“The weather forecast for tomorrow is getting worse by the hour and we don’t want to jeopardize the whole parade,” according to the statement.
The National Weather Service in Mobile is calling for severe weather with heavy rains and localized damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph as the primary threat.
There’s also a chance for a brief tornado, according to the NWS.
Those registered to be in the parade can redeem their tickets for the Dec. 15 parade.
Additionally, anyone who hasn’t registered may do so. Applications will be accepted by the Main Street Crestview Association until Dec. 14.
