HOLT, Fla., Dec. 12, 2018–The National Weather Service in Mobile is forecasting possible isolated severe storms for Thursday.
Clear skies will give way to increasing cloudiness Thursday afternoon through Thursday night bringing widespread showers and some thunderstorms to the area.
The main threat will likely be locally heavy rain, according to the NWS, with 1-to-2 inches falling in a short amount of time.
Damaging wind and a brief tornado are also possible.
Additionally, flash flooding in low areas and minor river flooding will be possible.
Highs Thursday will be in the low 60s. Lows will be in the mid 50s Thursday night with a 90 percent chance of rain.
Wind gusts associated with the storms could gust to 20 mph.
Rain possibility continues through Friday with a 50 percent chance of showers.
As the system moves to the east, clear skies and dry weather are forecast for the weekend.
