
The Holt Volunteer Fire District Super Bowl rib sale is Feb. 2 and 3.
HOLT, Fla., Jan. 31, 2019–The Holt Volunteer Fire District’s first rib sale of 2019 is this weekend.
Traditionally, rib sales are Friday and Saturday, but the one for Super Bowl weekend is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
That means hot ribs for the big game.
Ribs go in the smoker at 8 a.m. both days after being seasoned with with a secret rub recipe.

Ribs cook for four hours, two unwrapped, two wrapped.
They smoke for four hours–two unwrapped and two more after being wrapped in foil.
Ribs, sold on a first-come, first-served basis, will be available sometime after noon both days, depending on cook times.
Coleslaw, baked beans and potato salad side dishes from Susan’s Restaurant are also available at $4 a pint, two pints for $7 or three pints for $11.
The volunteer fire district holds three rib sales each year to raise money for programs such as its annual Kid’s Day.
The fire station is located at 490 U.S. 90 West in Holt.
If coming from Interstate 10, take exit 45, turn north toward U.S. 90, then west at the flashing red light. The station is on the left.
If coming from U.S. 90 in either direction, the fire station is on the south side of U.S. 90 and west side of the flashing yellow light.
The next rib sale is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend, May 26 and 27.

We got a rack of ribs today along with 2 sides, all I can say is wow! They were fantastic. Can’t wait for Memorial Day.
