HOLT, Fla., March 27, 2019–Two Holt men were arrested Tuesday on drug charges after a traffic stop in Crestview.
Michael Dean Cobb, 26, was arrested for marijuana possession and having drug equipment, both misdemeanor offenses.
Jacob Allan Lee Case, 26, was also arrested for having drug equipment, a misdemeanor offense, and for carrying a concealed weapon, a third-degree felony.
According to the arrest reports, during the traffic stop on James Lee Boulevard about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle which allowed a probable-cause search.
Deputies found a wooden box under the front center seat with what looked to be marijuana along with a marijuana grinder.
A field test of the substance tested positive for tetrahydrocannabinol or THC.
After being read his rights, Cobb, who was the passenger, admitted to the box under the seat as well as the burned remains of a marijuana cigarette, also known as a roach, on the dashboard.
The search also uncovered a glass smoking pipe in the crevice of the driver’s seat as well as a .32 caliber revolver in the driver’s side door not in a holster or gun case.
A container with crystalized residue was found in Case’s right front pants pocket.
Case, who was the driver, admitted to possessing the pistol after being read his rights.
Additionally, Case was charged with parole violation for reckless driving.
Once booked, Cobb bonded out; however, Case remains in the Okaloosa County Jail.
