HOLT, Fla., Sept. 8, 2017–The Holt Water Works Inc. annual meeting is scheduled for Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the utility office.

The public is invited to attend.

As with past annual meetings, a door prize drawing will be given at the yearly meeting.

The raffle consists of two $25 gift certificates for Susan’s Restaurant and Cathy’s Creations, as well as two $25 water credit certificates.

The agenda for this meeting includes electing three members of the board of directors.

One three-year board member is retiring and two others are up for reelection.

Board of Directors

Holt Water Works has a seven-person board of directors who each serve three-year terms. Board seats are rotated so not all director seats are vacated at the same time.

Board members are elected at the utility’s annual meeting. This meeting, three seats will be open as two board members’ terms of office end and another retires.

Board members are elected by a vote of those attending the annual meeting.

Nominations for board members can be taken from the floor by someone attending the meeting or by a sitting member of the board. If more than one person is nominated for a single seat, a vote by those attending determines who serves.

Those board members who have completed their three-year term can be reelected and serve another three-year term if nominated by a board member or someone in attendance.

There are no term limits to serving as a member of the board of directors.
