Holt volunteer firefighters spent part of the day Tuesday talking to Holt Academy students about fire safety as part of national Fire Prevention Week.

Firefighter Dave Brown showed the children what he looks like in his protective gear to teach them not to be afraid if someone who looks like him comes into their house to rescue them from a fire.

Holt Fire Lt. Shelly Chestnut showed children how to hold and use a fire hose. Others had a chance to work the sirens and horns on the fire truck.
